IRE Process

Ethanol from biomass is dependent on making sugar from polysaccharides, breaking them down into simple 5- and 6-carbon sugars for fermentation. Step 1 is mechanically and chemically breaking down the cellulose with alkaline peroxide, step 2 is microbial digestion to convert the cellulose to sugar, step 3 is fermentation with several organisms to convert both 5-carbon and 6-carbon sugars to ethanol, step 4 is distillation of the ethanol, and step 5 is dehydration of the ethanol to 200 proof. Some of the steps can be combined. IRE’s process makes use of historically proven technology that had been used in the beverage industry, but abandoned because it added unpleasant flavors. Flavor is irrelevant in fuel ethanol. Our product is made solely as a fuel. We are not bound by conventional materials used for distilleries, but use cheaper materials that create off flavors in beverage ethanol which also serves as a denaturant.
IRE has overcome the challenges presented by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to assume that one organism (or group or organisms) must be patented to provide renewable energy. The development of GMO’s has become a research focus to assure patentability and a license to litigate. IRE offers affiliates training and technology in the use of proprietary trademarked natural microbes that convert five and six carbon sugars effectively.
IRE offers variations of an integrated fuel system that produces fuel ethanol, E-85, biodiesel, aviation fuel, and several privately labeled fuel products. Those biofuels can be used in the following ways:

  • Provide biofuels for blending. Blending of biofuels is available in a multitude of applications.
  • ‘200 Proof’ fuel ethanol can be blended with petroleum in any percentage capacity.
  • Ethanol can be diluted with water to produce low-proof fuels for a non-polluting advanced technology with the power to operate converted diesel tractors, electrical turbines, and adapted engines such as irrigation pumps and more.
  • Special blends can be certified as aviation fuels (8% of the fuels market), maritime converted engine power, and more.
  • Power private-label efficient micro turbine generators for low cost non-polluting electricity backup.
